Ryn Hamilton Consulting has been designing energy efficiency and demand response programs and providing clients with independent assessments of such programs for two decades. We can help you assess the viability of various program concepts using lessons from other states and from our own practice. Sample projects include:
Union Fenosa. Participated in the design of a geothermal heat pump program under subcontract to 360 Energy Group, resulting in the installation of 5,000 geoexchange systems in Spanish hospitals, retirement homes and municipal buildings over five years. The business plan was adopted and we developed a subsequent program implementation guide and marketing plan.
Southern California Edison. Assisted SCE in its early planning to develop a an IDSM framework in compliance with California PUC requirements.
Pennsylvania Sustainable Energy Trust. Provided an independent analysis of an energy efficiency plan submitted to the state Pennsylvania PUC. Analyzed the utility’s use of the total resource cost test and the implications of its use in decisions about which programs to fund and which measures would be included in its resource portfolio.
Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Provided consulting support to pre-qualify and recruit customers into the state’s Best Price Energy Efficiency Program using $3M Recovery Act funding.
Southern California Edison. Served as program director under subcontract to the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium, with responsibility for implementation of two programs with combined value of two million dollars. One program featured direct incentives for new geothermal systems at schools in low income neighborhoods and the other program targeted the convenience store and service station market.
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Participated in the early development of the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center that offers programs and training to encourage building owners in Illinois to incorporate meaningful sustainable building goals early in building design process.
Connecticut Municipal Electric Cooperative. Participated in the development of a portfolio of cost effective energy efficiency customer programs for CMEEC.
Southern California Edison . Helped SCE develop program concepts for participating in the California ISO’s Proxy Demand Resource programs.
